MARSE SMART WATER - INDIRECT COOLING SYSTEM
SMART WATER-OPERATED TEMPERATURE CONTROL UNITS WITH INDIRECT COOLING

The Marse Smart Water - Indirect Cooling System (WIC) series has been developed to go beyond conventional direct-cooling, water-operated temperature control units by introducing an indirect cooling principle that enables higher operating temperatures, improved process stability, and enhanced operational safety. These systems are specifically designed for plastic processing and industrial applications requiring operating temperatures between 140 °C and 180 °C, where direct contact between process water and cooling water is not desirable.

As part of the Marse SMART platform, Smart Water - WIC units combine Industry 4.0-ready digital infrastructure, advanced PID control algorithms, and high-performance hydraulic components into a single, reliable solution.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF INDIRECT COOLING SYSTEM (WIC)

In indirect cooling systems, the water circulating through the mold or process circuit does not come into direct contact with the cooling water. Heat transfer is performed through a high-efficiency heat exchanger, which separates the two circuits.

This approach provides several key advantages, especially at elevated temperatures:

• Sudden pressure and temperature fluctuations in the cooling water do not affect the process circuit
• Reduced risk of scaling and corrosion in the mold water circuit
• More controlled and stable temperature reduction
• Safe use of water at higher operating temperatures

Thanks to this design, Smart Water - Indirect Cooling System units offer a wider operating temperature range and longer service life compared to direct-cooling systems.

SMART SERIES DIGITAL CONTROL AND INDUSTRY 4.0 INFRASTRUCTURE

All Smart Water - WIC models are equipped with an advanced control panel featuring a 7-inch color touchscreen. The EDGE 2 processor architecture enables real-time monitoring and high-speed data processing.

Digital control features include:

• Intuitive operation via 7" touchscreen
• Support for 17 languages
• Real-time temperature, pressure, and flow graphs
• Heating and cooling ramps
• Alarm history and event logs
• Automatic PID auto-tuning function

Communication and Industry 4.0 compatibility:

• OPC UA
• Profinet
• RS 485 / RS 232
• TTY 20 mA
• Analog signals 4-20 mA

In addition, the RAP (Remote Access Platform) allows machines to be monitored remotely, process data to be stored in the cloud, and service interventions to be carried out remotely.
