Special Mold Release Agents and High-Temperature Lubricants

Manufacturing processes involving high temperatures, intense friction, mechanical loads or demanding surface conditions often require products beyond the capabilities of standard mold release agents. Adhesion and friction on molds, extrusion dies, metal surfaces and moving machine components can affect component quality, accelerate equipment wear and cause production interruptions.

ACCA special mold release agents and high-temperature lubricants are developed for industrial applications ranging from plastic, rubber and wood molding to metal forming, aluminum extrusion, sintering and foundry processes.

The product range includes silicone-free mold release agents, graphite-based dry-film lubricants and boron-nitride-based high-temperature release agents. As each product is designed for different operating temperatures, surfaces and process conditions, product selection should be based on the technical requirements of the application.

Principal benefits

* Helps reduce adhesion and friction under demanding process conditions.
* Supports easier separation of components from molds and processing surfaces.
* Forms a protective release film on molds, dies and metal surfaces.
* Provides lubrication and release performance at elevated temperatures.
* Helps reduce equipment wear and surface damage.
* Contributes to controlled mold and equipment-cleaning requirements.
* Dry-film products can limit the formation of oily surface residues.
* Offers alternatives for plastic, rubber, wood and metal-processing applications.
* Aerosol packaging enables controlled and localized application.
* Contributes to reliable production and process stability.

Application areas

ACCA special mold release agents and high-temperature lubricants can be considered for applications including:

* Plastic molding
* Rubber and elastomer molding
* Wood and wood-based product molding
* Metal-forming processes
* Aluminum extrusion
* Extrusion dies
* Metal sintering
* Foundry applications
* High-temperature molds
* Dry-film lubrication

Not every product is intended for all applications. Suitability should be evaluated separately according to the operating temperature, material, surface and process conditions.

Featured products

SINTAC HD 83 Liquid

A synthetic, silicone-free mold release agent developed for plastic, rubber and wood molding processes. It helps reduce adhesion and friction and is formulated to avoid sticky or gummy residues on the treated surface.

It provides a suitable alternative for applications where the use of silicone is not preferred. The liquid form can be applied manually or through suitable spraying and automatic dosing systems.

Application quantity and frequency should be determined according to the molded material, mold temperature, surface geometry and cycle conditions.

SINTAC HD 83 Aerosol - 500 ml

The ready-to-use aerosol version of SINTAC HD 83. It provides controlled and localized application for plastic, rubber and wood molding operations.

Its aerosol packaging offers practical use during production trials, maintenance operations, mold changes and processes requiring rapid intervention. Its silicone-free formulation makes it suitable for appropriate applications where silicone-containing release agents are not desired.

If the molded component will subsequently be painted, printed or adhesively bonded, surface compatibility should be tested before series production.

GRAFITE HD 223 Aerosol - 500 ml

A graphite-based, anti-adhesive lubricant aerosol designed for elevated-temperature applications. It forms a dry lubricating film on the treated surface, helping reduce friction and adhesion.

Its dry-film structure provides an advantage in suitable industrial applications where oily residues are not desired and dust accumulation needs to be limited. It can be considered for molds, dies and moving metal surfaces exposed to high temperatures, mechanical loads and intense friction.

Product suitability should be determined according to the operating temperature, surface material, mechanical load and environmental conditions.

CERAMIZZANTE NB HD 239 Aerosol - 500 ml

A boron-nitride-based high-temperature lubricant and release agent developed for metal-processing applications involving severe operating conditions and very high temperatures.

After the solvent has completely evaporated, the product creates a hard and durable film on the treated surface. This film acts as a protective barrier against mechanical stress, high temperatures and environmental influences.

Its ability to withstand temperatures above 900°C makes it suitable for aluminum extrusion, metal sintering, foundry operations and similar high-temperature processes. It can be considered for extrusion dies, molds and equipment surfaces exposed to hot metal.

Graphite versus boron-nitride-based products

GRAFITE HD 223 creates a graphite-based dry lubricating film. It can be selected for lubrication and anti-adhesive performance under high-temperature and high-friction conditions. Due to its graphite content, it may create a dark film on the treated surface.

CERAMIZZANTE NB HD 239 is based on boron nitride and is distinguished by its ability to form a hard and durable protective film at very high temperatures. It provides a technical alternative to graphite-based products where surface color, cleanliness or specific process requirements are important.

Product selection should not be based solely on temperature. The processed material, surface type, required film structure, mechanical load and subsequent processing stages should also be evaluated.

Selecting the correct product

The following criteria should be considered:

* Material being processed or molded
* Operating and surface temperature
* Mold, die or equipment-surface structure
* Level of friction and mechanical load
* Required film thickness and durability
* Restrictions on the use of silicone
* Requirement for a dry or oily film
* Subsequent component-processing operations
* Manual or automated application requirements
* Occupational safety and operating-environment conditions

The product should be applied in a controlled quantity to a clean and properly prepared surface. For high-temperature applications, the application and safety instructions provided in the relevant technical data sheet must be followed.

Polmak Plastik supports customers in evaluating their process conditions, selecting the appropriate ACCA special mold release agent or high-temperature lubricant and planning production trials.
