Mold Release Agents for Rubber

ACCA rubber mold release agents are professional process products developed for controlled and efficient demolding of EPDM, nitrile, butyl and other technical rubber components. Silicone-free DISTAC G HD 107 and semi-permanent DISTAC SP HD 222 help reduce adhesion, maintain component surface quality and limit production interruptions associated with frequent mold cleaning.

Rubber Mold Release Agents

During rubber molding, adhesion between the compound and mold surface can make demolding difficult, damage the component surface and increase production cycle times. Selecting the correct release agent is particularly important for O-rings, seals, bellows and other technical rubber components with complex geometries, deep channels or thin sections.

ACCA rubber mold release agents are professional process auxiliaries developed to facilitate controlled and efficient demolding. They create a release layer between the rubber component and mold surface, helping reduce adhesion, maintain component quality and limit production interruptions caused by frequent mold cleaning.

The product range includes silicone-free release agents for regular application and semi-permanent alternatives capable of supporting multiple demolding cycles after a single application. The appropriate product can therefore be selected according to the rubber compound, mold geometry, operating temperature, cycle time and required application frequency.

Principal benefits

* Facilitates easier removal of rubber components from molds.
* Reduces adhesion between the rubber compound and mold surface.
* Helps reduce the risk of tearing, deformation and surface damage.
* Supports the demolding of rubber parts with complex geometries.
* Creates a controlled and uniform release film on the mold surface.
* Contributes to reduced mold-cleaning requirements and production interruptions.
* Helps maintain consistent component surfaces and stable production.
* Offers aerosol and liquid alternatives for different application methods.
* Provides separate options for regular and semi-permanent application.

Application areas

ACCA rubber mold release agents can be used in the production of:

* O-rings
* Rubber seals and sealing elements
* EPDM components
* Nitrile rubber components
* Butyl rubber products
* Rubber bellows
* Membranes and diaphragms
* Automotive rubber components
* Technical rubber products
* Elastomer components with complex geometries
* Rubber injection molding

Suitability for plastics, thermoplastics and composite materials should be evaluated according to the specific product and process conditions.

Featured products

DISTAC G HD 107 Liquid

A synthetic, silicone-free mold release agent developed for rubber molding processes. Its anti-adhesive properties help facilitate the removal of rubber components from molds.

It is suitable for butyl, nitrile and EPDM rubber and can also be considered for appropriate plastic, thermoplastic and composite applications. Its formulation does not leave carbonized residues, helping maintain cleaner mold surfaces under regular production conditions.

The liquid form can be applied manually or with a suitable dosing and spraying system. The application quantity and frequency should be determined according to the material, mold temperature and component geometry.

DISTAC G HD 107 Spray - 400 ml

The ready-to-use aerosol version of DISTAC G HD 107. It offers a practical solution for localized application, production trials, low- and medium-volume manufacturing and processes requiring rapid intervention.

Its silicone-free formulation makes it suitable for appropriate rubber molding processes where the use of conventional silicone-based release agents is not desired. Its spray format supports controlled and uniform application to the mold surface.

DISTAC SP HD 222 Spray - 500 ml

A semi-permanent release agent developed for rubber molding. It creates a thin, durable release film on the mold surface and may support multiple demolding cycles after a single application.

It is a suitable alternative for series-production processes where reduced application frequency is required. The number of possible demolding cycles depends on the rubber compound, mold temperature, component geometry, mold-surface condition and applied quantity.

Regular versus semi-permanent release agents

DISTAC G HD 107 is suitable for processes where controlled and regular application is preferred. It can be reapplied at intervals determined by the operating conditions and provides direct control over the release process.

DISTAC SP HD 222 provides semi-permanent performance by forming a more durable film on the mold surface. It can be selected when the objective is to reduce application frequency and complete multiple molding cycles after one application.

Selecting the correct product

The following criteria should be considered when selecting a rubber mold release agent:

* Rubber type and compound formulation
* Mold temperature
* Component geometry and surface structure
* Production cycle time
* Mold-surface coating and condition
* Required application frequency
* Subsequent processing of the molded component
* Production volume and level of automation

Suitability for silicone rubber, HCR or LSR applications should not be assumed automatically. ACCA's technical approval and production trials under actual operating conditions are recommended before use.

Polmak Plastik supports customers in evaluating process conditions, selecting the appropriate ACCA rubber mold release agent and planning production trials.
