Mold Cleaners

During the molding of plastics, rubber and other industrial materials, polymer deposits, oils, grease, pigments, additive residues and carbonized contamination can gradually accumulate on mold surfaces. These deposits may affect component appearance, prevent the accurate transfer of mold details and create demolding problems.

As contamination increases, production stability can decrease while rejected components, mold-cleaning time and unplanned production interruptions may increase. Regular cleaning with the correct product and controlled method is therefore important for maintaining both component quality and mold performance.

ACCA mold cleaners are developed to help remove carbonized process contamination, oily deposits and production residues from mold surfaces. Aerosol application allows the product to be delivered in a controlled manner and provides practical use in channels, cavities and areas that are difficult to access.

Principal benefits

* Helps remove oil and grease deposits from mold surfaces.
* Provides effective cleaning of carbonized contamination and production residues.
* Helps maintain mold details and surface geometry.
* Contributes to consistent molded-component surface quality.
* Helps reduce surface problems that may occur during demolding.
* Aerosol pressure supports the removal of contamination from the surface.
* Enables controlled and localized application.
* Provides practical use during mold changes and periodic maintenance.
* Helps limit production interruptions associated with mold cleaning.
* Supports the systematic implementation of preventive-maintenance programs.

Application areas

ACCA mold cleaners can be considered for applications including:

* Plastic injection molds
* Rubber and elastomer molds
* Thermoset molds
* Polyurethane molds
* Technical plastic component molds
* O-ring and gasket molds
* Automotive-component molds
* Electrical and electronic component molds
* Packaging and closure molds
* Mold surfaces with complex geometries
* Mold maintenance and refurbishment operations
* Cleaning between material or production changes
* Metal surfaces contaminated with oils, grease and carbonized process residues

Compatibility with the mold material and any surface coating should be verified before application.

MOULD CLEANER HD 240 Aerosol - 500 ml

MOULD CLEANER HD 240 is an aerosol cleaner and degreaser developed for mold-maintenance operations. It helps remove carbonized contamination, oily deposits and process residues that accumulate on mold surfaces during production.

Aerosol pressure supports controlled application to contaminated areas and assists in removing deposits as they are dissolved. This provides practical application in mold cavities, channels, ribs and difficult-to-access surfaces.

The product is particularly suitable for mold changes, periodic maintenance, production trials and localized cleaning. Its ready-to-use aerosol format does not require additional preparation or mixing.

Why is regular mold cleaning important?

Process residues on mold surfaces do more than create visible contamination. Over time, these deposits may cause:

* Dull areas, stains and discoloration on molded components
* Incomplete transfer of the mold texture
* Components sticking to the mold
* Flash and dimensional inconsistency
* Blocked mold-venting channels
* Gas burns and surface defects
* Inconsistent mold-release performance
* More frequent production interruptions and maintenance

Planned mold cleaning helps remove contamination before it becomes severe and supports a faster return to production.

Recommended application approach

Production should be stopped and the mold placed in a safe condition before cleaning. Mold temperature, ventilation requirements and waiting time should be determined according to the instructions in the relevant technical and safety documents.

MOULD CLEANER HD 240 should be applied to the surface in a controlled quantity and allowed sufficient time to act on the deposits. Dissolved contamination can then be removed using a clean, non-abrasive and lint-free cloth. The procedure may be repeated where necessary.

After cleaning, the mold should be checked to ensure that no product or contamination remains on the surface. Before production restarts, the mold should be in the required condition and, where necessary, an appropriate mold-protection or maintenance product should be applied.

Application precautions

* Review the technical data sheet and safety data sheet before use.
* Remove the mold from production and establish safe working conditions.
* Apply to hot surfaces only when explicitly permitted by the product documentation.
* Ensure adequate ventilation in the working area.
* Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Perform a preliminary test on sensitive coatings, painted surfaces or plastics.
* Avoid hard cleaning tools that may scratch the mold surface.
* Do not restart production before cleaning residues have been removed.
* Keep the aerosol container away from flames and excessive heat.

Establishing the correct cleaning program

Mold-cleaning frequency depends on the polymer, additives, mold temperature, cycle time, mold geometry and production volume. Materials containing high pigment levels, flame retardants, fillers or volatile additives may require more frequent cleaning.

Cleaning should not be regarded only as a corrective action after a problem develops. A preventive-maintenance program based on actual production conditions helps prevent severe contamination and reduce unplanned interruptions.

Polmak Plastik supports customers in evaluating the type of mold contamination, selecting the appropriate ACCA cleaning product and determining the correct application method.
