Metal Forming and Minimum Quantity Lubrication Fluids
ACCA metal forming and minimum quantity lubrication fluids are developed to reduce friction, support tool life and improve surface quality in pressing, deep drawing, forming, tube bending, cutting, drilling and related metalworking operations. Product options for different materials and processing conditions can be used with conventional lubrication methods, automatic spraying equipment and minimum quantity lubrication systems.
High pressure and friction between the die, tool and metal surface during forming operations can cause surface defects, component deformation, premature tool wear and production losses. The correct forming fluid helps the metal move through the die more consistently while reducing friction between the workpiece and the tooling.
ACCA metal forming fluids are designed for applications ranging from light forming to heavy pressing and deep drawing. The range includes low-viscosity evaporable fluids, water-washable products, fully water-soluble mineral-oil-free fluids and specialised lubricants offering enhanced performance under severe pressure.
Minimum quantity lubrication fluids are designed to deliver a controlled amount of lubricant directly to the machining or forming zone. When used with automatic spraying or MQL systems, these products can help reduce lubricant consumption and minimise residues on finished components. Specific options are available for aluminium, steel, iron, cast iron, copper and yellow metal alloys.
Product selection should be based on the workpiece material, deformation level, tooling geometry, operating speed, application method, subsequent manufacturing stages and acceptable residue level. The fluid and actual process conditions should therefore be evaluated together.
Metal Forming Fluids
PRESSING HD 603
A family of low-viscosity, evaporable and low-odour fluids developed for deep drawing and metal forming operations. The products are designed to provide lubrication under high-pressure processing conditions.
The PRESSING range is available in four grades according to operation severity and required residue level:
- PRESSING 0: Light operations and low residue requirements
- PRESSING 1: Medium-light operations
- PRESSING 2: Medium-heavy operations
- PRESSING 3: Heavy forming operations requiring a stronger lubricating film
The PRESSING HD 603 range helps manufacturers select a suitable balance between lubrication performance and the amount of product remaining on the component.
PRESSING STEP HD 603
A slightly viscous lubricant developed for medium and heavy step drawing and forming operations on iron and steel. It leaves a lubricating layer on the component, supporting successive multi-stage forming operations. The product has an ISO 46 viscosity grade.
PRESS OIL HT SPECIALE
A viscous, water-washable metal forming fluid for heavy pressing operations on iron and steel. It can also be used in wet drawing applications. The product helps create an effective lubricating layer between the metal and tooling under demanding operating conditions.
DRY FORMING BIO 0
A low-viscosity, evaporable and low-odour lubricant developed for drawing and deformation applications. It is formulated to provide high performance and extreme-pressure resistance. The ACCA catalogue describes it as a product without hazard symbols or H statements. It can be considered for operations requiring a cleaner working environment and reduced residues.
LUBFORGING 6 HD 500
A fully water-soluble metal deformation fluid containing no mineral oil. It can be used for stamping, forming, deep drawing, shearing, tube bending and coining operations. Its suitability for medium and heavy drawing makes it an option for processes requiring a water-miscible product.
Minimum Quantity Lubrication Fluids
ALCUT HD 166
A synthetic fluid developed for cutting and machining aluminium and aluminium alloys. Its cooling and anti-wear properties help control friction between the cutting tool and the workpiece. It is suitable for cutting and general machining operations.
ALCUT HT HD 166
Developed for cutting and machining aluminium and its alloys when annealing or another heat treatment follows the machining operation. It is formulated to avoid staining and is suitable for automatic spraying systems.
ALCUT EVO HD 166
A new-generation, synthetic-ester-based aluminium working fluid. It can be considered for cutting, general machining and applications followed by annealing. The product combines cooling, anti-wear and workpiece protection characteristics. The ACCA catalogue identifies it as a product that does not require hazard symbols.
ALCUT BIO HD 166
A vegetable-based fluid developed for cutting and machining aluminium and its alloys. It offers cooling and anti-wear performance. The ACCA catalogue describes it as a new-generation product that does not require labelling symbols or H statements.
SOLV AL
A low-residue fluid developed for aluminium cutting and machining operations. It helps produce a high-quality surface finish and is particularly suitable for automatic spraying systems.
SOLV AL X
Designed for aluminium machining processes requiring very low residue levels. It can be applied through automatic spraying systems and helps produce a high-quality surface finish. It can be considered where only a minimal amount of product should remain before subsequent processing.
MULTICUT BIO HD 169
A chlorine-free cutting fluid based on vegetable esters. It is developed as an alternative to traditional mineral oils. Its low viscosity, cooling performance and anti-wear properties make it suitable for various machining operations. The ACCA catalogue describes it as a product that does not require hazard labelling or H statements.
FERCUT HD 167
Developed for machining ferrous metals such as steel, iron and cast iron. It can be used for operations involving hard ferrous materials and is particularly suitable for automatic spraying systems.
YELLOW CUT HD 168
A specialised fluid for cutting and machining copper, brass and other yellow metal alloys. It is suitable for automatic spraying and minimum quantity lubrication systems. The formulation is intended to provide material-compatible lubrication while supporting machining quality.
CUT GLASS HD 157
A transparent, fully evaporable and non-residual fluid developed for glass cutting. Its additives support surface finish and cutting tool life. The product can help reduce the need for extensive cleaning after the cutting operation.
MICRO-LUBE COMPACT Lubrication System
MICRO-LUBE COMPACT is a minimum quantity lubrication system designed to deliver precise and controlled amounts of lubricant directly to the processing zone. Compared with conventional total-loss oil application or recirculating coolant systems, it can support lower lubricant consumption. When combined with suitable ACCA MQL fluids, it helps improve control over both the process and the amount of lubricant applied.

Product Selection Considerations
The workpiece material, severity of the operation, forming ratio, tooling design, process temperature and application method should be evaluated when selecting a suitable fluid. If the component will subsequently be welded, painted, coated, annealed or heat-treated, residue level and ease of product removal should receive particular attention.
In automatic spraying and minimum quantity lubrication applications, spray volume, nozzle position, air pressure and fluid viscosity can directly affect process performance. A controlled trial under actual production conditions is recommended before full-scale use.
