PVC-O Pipe Production Line and Advanced Extrusion Technology
High-Strength, Efficient, and Sustainable PVC-O Pipe Production
PVC-O (Biaxially Oriented PVC) pipes are next-generation infrastructure solutions that offer higher mechanical strength, lower weight, and superior hydraulic performance compared to conventional PVC-U and HDPE pipes. The online single-step PVC-O pipe extrusion technology developed by Polytime Machinery delivers Class 500 performance and has been successfully implemented in numerous reference projects worldwide.
What Is PVC-O?
PVC-O pipes are produced by subjecting PVC-U pipes to a biaxial orientation process. During this process, the molecular structure of the material is aligned in both the axial and circumferential directions of the pipe. As a result, the following benefits are achieved:
Thinner wall thickness
Higher pressure resistance
Lower raw material consumption
Longer service life
PVC-O Pipe Production Process
The Polytime PVC-O production line is designed as a continuous, online, single-step system. The main process stages are as follows:
Raw material preparation and mixing
Plasticizing via extruder
Die outlet and vacuum calibration
Pre-heating
Biaxial orientation (stretching and expansion)
Cooling and stabilization
Cutting (planer cutter)
Belling (socketing)
Compared to conventional batch systems, this method provides a much more stable, faster, and more efficient production process.
Advantages of PVC-O Pipes
Comparison with Other Pipe Types
According to technical comparisons, PVC-O pipes offer the following advantages:
Lighter weight at the same diameter
Thinner wall thickness at the same pressure class
Higher water conveyance capacity
Lower material cost
These advantages result in significant savings in both initial investment and long-term operating costs.
Main Application Areas
PVC-O pipes are widely used in the following applications:
Potable water distribution lines
Agricultural irrigation systems
Long-distance water transmission pipelines
Industrial infrastructure and municipal projects
Thanks to their high pressure resistance and long service life, PVC-O pipes are widely recognized as the pipe technology of the future, especially for infrastructure investments.
