QIP DRYING MACHINES
HIGH-EFFICIENCY, DESICCANT-FREE AND ENERGY-SAVING DRYING TECHNOLOGIES FOR PLASTIC RAW MATERIALS
Controlling raw material moisture is a critical factor in plastic processing, directly affecting product quality, process stability, and overall energy efficiency. Hygroscopic plastics such as PA, PET, PC, PMMA, PBT, TPU, PPS, and other engineering polymers must be dried under precisely controlled temperature, time, and airflow conditions before processing. If this is not achieved, surface defects, reduced mechanical strength, gas formation, color variations, and mould-related issues become unavoidable. QIP drying systems are specifically developed to eliminate these risks by using advanced compressed-air-based drying technology that operates without desiccants.
QIP's core philosophy is based on maximum energy efficiency, minimal maintenance requirements, and constant drying performance throughout the entire service life of the machine. Thanks to the patented two-circuit system architecture, QIP dryers can achieve energy savings of up to 85 percent compared to conventional desiccant drying systems, while maintaining exceptionally high process reliability.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF QIP DRYING TECHNOLOGY
QIP dryers use a desiccant-free drying principle based on the controlled expansion of compressed air. The drying air is supplied through regulated compressed air lines, and during expansion it becomes extremely dry. This dry air is introduced homogeneously into the material bed through the lower perimeter of the drying hopper.
Because the airflow rises uniformly from bottom to top:
• Plastic granules are heated evenly
• Drying times are reduced
• The risk of over-drying is eliminated
• Cleaning and material changes become fast and simple
The round-section drying hopper and the absence of internal air inlet pipes offer major advantages, especially in applications with frequent color or material changes.
