Scholz Dosiertechnik Systems - Industrial Dosing Solutions
Scholz Dosiertechnik is a globally recognized specialist in dosing technology, developing modular dosing systems specifically designed for the precise dosing of granules, powders, fibers, regrind, and liquids across a wide range of industrial processes. These systems significantly enhance process stability and production efficiency in high-quality-driven industries such as plastic injection molding, extrusion, chemical processing, recycling, food production, and automotive manufacturing.
The dosing units developed by Scholz can operate in both volumetric and gravimetric modes. This dual capability allows recipe-based component addition to be continuously monitored and corrected in real time, ensuring consistent product quality and reliable process control.
Modular Dosing Technology
Scholz systems are based on a highly adaptable modular design. This structure allows rapid adjustment to changing recipes and dosing rates, enabling different product types to be processed on a single platform.
In volumetric mode, dosing is controlled via a frequency inverter, providing sufficient accuracy for many material types and applications.
In gravimetric mode, the system is connected to a weighing platform, enabling highly precise recipe-based dosing with continuous weight monitoring and automatic correction.
This modularity allows easy integration into existing production lines while also enabling fast replacement or reconfiguration of system components when process requirements change.
Product Series and Technical Capabilities
The Scholz product portfolio offers a broad range of models designed for different material characteristics and production capacities.
Granule and Regrind Dosing Units
Base models for granule and regrind materials are segmented by screw diameter and feeding capacity:
LOGO: Single-screw design with 12-60 mm screw diameter, offering output capacities from 1 to 500 kg/h as a cost-effective entry-level dosing solution.
MONO+: High-power motor with optional accessories, providing capacities of up to 1,000 kg/h.
SOLO: Designed specifically for recycled materials, with screw diameters from 40 to 100 mm and capacities of up to 5,000 kg/h.
GOLO: Heavy-duty single-screw feeder for lightweight materials, also with 40-100 mm screw diameters and capacities reaching 10,000 kg/h.
All models can operate in both volumetric and gravimetric modes and can be equipped with platform scales for continuous weight monitoring.
Powder and Mineral Filler Dosing Systems
The FLEX series is designed for powder materials and features a dual-motor feeding system, allowing independent control of fluidization and mixing frequency:
FLEX50: For pigments, flame retardants, and fine powders, with screw diameters of 13-40 mm and capacities from 1 to 100 kg/h.
FLEX80: For mineral fillers, with screw diameters of 31-75 mm and capacities up to 1,000 kg/h.
FLEX130: Large hopper design with screw diameters of 100-125 mm, suitable for high-volume powder dosing up to 10,000 kg/h.
The removable PU hopper and cast-metal frame used in powder dosing systems simplify cleaning, maintenance, and system reconfiguration.
Additives and Sticky Materials
For sticky, lightweight, or poorly flowing materials, the TWIN series provides a unique solution:
TWIN20: Twin-screw system with agitator, ideal for small dosing quantities from 0.1 to 100 l/h.
TWIN40: Larger hopper volume and stable material flow for higher-volume liquid or additive dosing.
Liquid Dosing Systems
For liquid components, Scholz offers customized systems based on different pump technologies, including gear pumps, diaphragm pumps, hose pumps, and piston pumps. Pump selection depends on viscosity, pressure, and process requirements. These systems can be supplied as mobile or stationary units and are also available in actively heated versions for temperature-sensitive media.
Weighing and Control Technology
Scholz weighing technology utilizes both PESA string sensors and DMS (strain gauge) sensors to achieve high-precision gravimetric dosing. Depending on capacity requirements, the following weighing platforms are available:
BASIC300, BASIC400, BASIC600: PESA-string technology for low to medium gravimetric dosing capacities.
BASIC700: DMS technology for high-precision gravimetric applications.
These weighing and control systems enable immediate reaction to dosing deviations and reliable verification of recipe compliance.
Software and Control Concept
The in-house developed Scholz control software provides advanced functionality, including high dosing accuracy, recipe management, automatic adjustment, and seamless process integration. Users can choose between two main control modes:
MASTER mode: Recipe management and control are handled independently within the dosing system.
SLAVE mode: Scholz dosing units are controlled by an existing plant or process control system.
This flexibility allows standalone operation in smaller facilities as well as full integration into highly automated production lines.
Application Areas
Scholz dosing systems are successfully applied in a wide range of industries, including plastic and polymer extrusion and injection molding, chemical process dosing, food production with precise additive control, automotive component manufacturing, recycling and waste material dosing, and pharmaceutical and environmental technology applications.
Industrial Advantages and Operational Benefits
The key benefits of Scholz dosing systems include high dosing accuracy through gravimetric control, modular flexibility for rapid adaptation to different materials and processes, a wide capacity range from 1 kg/h up to 10,000 kg/h, easy maintenance and cleaning thanks to modular design features, and seamless automation compatibility through MASTER and SLAVE control options.
